In March 2013 Interactive Things and the Swiss newspaper “Neue Zürcher Zeitung” collaborated on a visualization of the Fukushima desaster. In this post published on datavisualization.ch a great insight to the whole research and design process is given. The final design contained also some maps showing for example the growing extention of radioactivity during February 1st or the evacuated zones around the power plant. All together a great article, that brings not just well researched content to the reader but a whole reading-experience. Kind of reminds me of the New York Times’ article on the Tunnel Creek avalanche—probably took a glimpse over to their neighbors there.
